 Ephesians 4:8 "Wherefore He saith, when He ascended up on high He led captivity   captive, and gave gifts unto men."

The Five-Fold Ministry represents the right hand of God.  Its purpose is to shape and mold the body of Christ. Matthew 3: 11 says "... Whose fan is in His hand and he will thoroughly purge..." There are five offices that will help bring the body of Christ to maturity, sonship and perfection. Ephesians 4:12-16 says "For the perfecting of saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edification of the body of Christ: Till we all come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby the lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, making increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Ephesians 4: 11 " And He gave some, Apostles; and some, Prophets; and some, Evangelists; and some, Pastors and Teachers.

The Apostle: The Thumb. One can't do much without thumbs. The office of an Apostle establishes Biblical authority and helps set things in order, a builder. Lays foundational truth in the lives of believers (example: Paul, establishing many churches and advancing the Kingdom of God.) Ephesians 2:20 and are built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself, being the chief cornerstone.

The Prophet:  Index finger, referred to as the seerer. Known to be on point. The main job is to edify, exhort and comfort the body of Christ. This office also has greater flow in the prophetic and dealing with correction. Has the authority "root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, to build and to plant." Jeremiah 1: 1 0

The Evangelist:   Middle finger, known for reaching out to lost souls. "...he that winneth souls is wise." Proverbs 11:30

The Pastor:  Ring finger, married to the body. Main function is to feed and care for the sheep. John 21: 15-17 "Jesus commands Peter…Feed my lambs, feed my sheep."

The Teacher:  Pinky finger, brings balance to the whole hand. "For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statues and judgments." Ezra 7: 1 0
